Road Tripping New Zealand, Episode 3: Te Anau, Doubtful Sound, & Mt. Cook
The final episode in the 3-part series takes us to beautiful Te Anau for a cruise on Doubtful Sound, a less-crowded and more remote version of Milford Sound, as well us up towards Milford Sound to see the Mirror Lakes. We then head to Twizel to go hike the Hooker Valley Track at the base of Mt. Cook. On the way back to Christchurch we pass the beautiful Rakaia Gorge, and then sadly have to fly home! Enjoy the 80s music on this one :-).
Road Tripping New Zealand, Episode 2: Queenstown, Hiking Ben Lomond & Mt. Crichton Tracks
In this episode we drive on to Queenstown, where we picnic at Lake Wakatipu, view the gardens and town, and then set about hiking the Ben Lomond track. We also hike the Mt. Crichton Loop track, so if you want to get a taste for how awesome New Zealand hiking is, check this video out! You'll see an old hut that looks like it could be in the scene of a horror film, and a giant bird that flies right by our faces! Enjoy....
Road Tripping New Zealand, Episode 1: Christchurch, Kaikoura, Lake Tekapo, and Wanaka.
Episode 1 of a two-week road trip my wife and I took on the South Island of New Zealand. In this episode we start in beautiful Christchurch and drive up the coast to Kaikoura for some whale watching. Then we ahead west across the island, stopping at crystal blue Lake Tekapo, to Wanaka to hike the Rocky Mountain Track. This episode has it all: whales, dolphins, flowers, hiking, mountains, lakes and rainbows! You'll get a nice taste of how beautiful hiking in New Zealand is!
Exploring Vietnam & Cambodia, Episode 2: Trekking around Sa Pa
In part two of this series, I travel to Sa Pa in northern Vietnam and embark on a 3-day trek through the mountainous jungle, rice terraces, and a series of small villages that are home to the various hill tribes of Vietnam.
Exploring Vietnam & Cambodia, Episode 3: Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba Island
Join me for a 3-day trip to Halong Bay and Cat Ba island! In this episode I spend a few days exploring Halong Bay and its karst caves, visiting with local clammers, kayaking through the floating fishing villages of Lan Ha bay, and hiking and biking on Cat Ba island. We even ended up climbing up inside a cave on Cat Ba and descending down the back side rock face using thick jungle vines! It was definitely an experience to remember....
Exploring Vietnam & Cambodia, Episode 6: Saigon & the Mekong Delta
In this episode and series finale, I wrap up the trip on the streets of Saigon and with a short jaunt to the Mekong Delta. Bustling with life and choked with motorbikes, Saigon moves just about as fast as this video!
